The perfection loop
The perfection loop 1 form a first loop, the tag end passing behind the line. 2 form a second loop in front of the first. 3 pass the tag end between the two loops, then pull the second loop through the first. 4 wet, tighten: the loop stays in line with the main line.

The test before fishing

Pull the loop in line with the main line: it must stay round, with the tag end coming out at a right angle, without slipping.
